Jane Antoni, Sharron Empett and Natalia Openshaw form the committee for the Cloud Nine Charity Ball. This committee was formed with the ultimate aim of helping to raise £223,000 for the Bliss Charity for babies born too soon, too small or too sick, in conjunction with Noel’s ‘223 Challenge’.
The Cloud Nine Charity Ball is one of many events working towards this aim. The ball promises to be an amazing evening of fun, laughter, entertainment and dancing. There will be 700 people enjoying the evening and we would love for you to be there with us.
Tickets will sell fast so please contact us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
Every year over 80,000 children in the UK are born premature or sick, that is one in every nine babies born. During this time they need specialist equipment, support and care from exceptionally dedicated medical staff to get through those critical hours, days, weeks and months. Bliss helps by providing funding, support, awareness raising and pioneering research and is the only national charity dedicated to improving both the survival and long-term quality of life for these babies unable to cope on their own.
In January 2007 Noel’s sister Marie gave birth to twins, Erin and Ethan, 15 weeks and 3 days premature. Erin weighed 1lb 8 ounces and Ethan 1lb 10 ounces, both were no bigger than your hand. Until this time Marie, like many parents, took for granted that you get pregnant and nine long months later you give birth and take your healthy babies home to celebrate amongst family and friends. It was so different with the twins. Being so premature they faced many complications and faced an incredibly tough journey. They both fought very hard for every day, never the less Ethan still managed to charm everyone with his cheeky smile and Erin took it all in her stride with her laid back approach. Unfortunately after 223 days it was time for Ethan to stop fighting. You can read more about Ethan’s amazing story here.
Noel, Ethan’s uncle and close friend, has taken up the challenge of running 223 marathons in memory of Ethan and all those other little ones born too early to win their own personal marathons. One marathon for each day that Ethan fought his brave fight. In the process he aims to raise £223,000 of much needed funding for Bliss and would really appreciate your support along the way.
